Ruth Balestra is a certified Step Aerobics Instructor through the American Aerobic Association and International Sports Medicine Association. She is also certified through NETA (National Exercise Trainers Assoc.). Ruth has been a member of FACT (Fitness Assoc. for Continuing Teachers and the Association of Fitness Professionals).
Ruth's Dance and Fitness Co.,LLC., now in its 22nd year, was built upon a foundation of strong dance techniques that stress balance, muscle control and safety awareness issues. |

Ruth is actively involved in the American Diabetes walk-a-thon every year, where she leads the warm-up segment prior to the start of the event. She has also lead the warm-up for the American Cancer Society's Annual Relay for Life, and has participated with a team from Ruth's Dance and Fitness Co.,LLC. In addition, she has been actively involved in the American Heart Asiation walk-a-thons |

BODY STRENGTHNING
Using weights, balls and bands we strength train all the major muscle groups to achieve a toned and sculpted look as well as stronger bones.
PILATES
Through the use of your mind, body and breath, you will be taught qualitative “core-conditioning”. The stomach, back and glutes will be the target of your “core”. This class will help you achieve toned muscles, flat abs and improved posture that will help you achieve a leaner look. This class is perfect for those afraid of aerobics!

LOW IMPACT AEROBICS AND TRAINING
A good workout for people who want to begin a fitness program. This class reaches the cardio-vascular levels you’ll need to burn fat. Class will also include toning exercises that target upper, middle and lower body.
STEP AEROBICS AND STRENGTH TRAINING
Upbeat and motivating step aerobics for the cardio portion, plus strength training and floor work for toning major muscle groups.
LINE DANCE AND TONE
Warm up the body, then learn a series of line dances, Country, Latin, Pop & even 50’s!
NEW : LATIN AEROBICS
You will learn to Mamba and Cha Cha, while working aerobically to Latin music. This class will keep you moving!

WE WILL COME TO YOUR ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY providing the exercise program, along with any necessary equipment and music. Participating as a group in a fun and lively atmosphere, residents perform exercises that utilize stretch and strength training movements while seated at all times for safety and steady balance.
Ruth currently runs a Stretch and Strength program on site at Meridian Arms, The Alterra Sterling House, and Sunrise Assisted Living. She has also taught classes at Marian Living Center, and the Commons at Greenbriar. |
