On-Site Assisted Living Exercise Programs with Ruth Balestra:
We come to your facility, providing the exercise program, any necessary equipment and music. Participating as a group, in a fun and lively atmosphere, residents perform exercises that utilize stretch and strength training movements while seated at all times for safety and steady balance.
Ruth currently runs a Stretch and Strength program on site at Maridian Arms, The Allterra Sterling House, and Sunrise Assisted Living. She has also taught classes at Marian Living Center, and the Commons at Greenbriar.

Low Impact Aerobics : start your mornings with exercise that's fun, motivating and specially designed for Seniors! Your choice of two different programs. A low impact aerobic segment combined with some lightweight training and elastic bands for a complete workout.
Line Dance & Tone
A lively Line Dancing class that begins with a light warm-up followed by some strength training and a series of your favorite line dance steps. (Country, Latin, Pop)

Ruth Balestra
Ruth Balestra is a certified Step Aerobics Instructor through the American Aerobic Association and International Sports Medicine Association. She is also certified through NETA (National Exercise Trainers Assoc.). Ruth has been a member of FACT (Fitness Assoc. for Continuing Teachers and the Association of Fitness Professionals).
Ruth's Robics and Dance Co., now in its 20th year, was built upon a foundation of strong dance techniques that stress balance, muscle control and safety awareness issues.
Ruth is actively involved in the American Diabetes walk-a-thon every year, where she leads the warm-up segment prior to the start of the event. She has also lead the warm-up for the American Cancer Society's Annual Relay for Life, and has participated with a team from Ruth's Robics and Dance Co. In addition, she has been actively involved in the American Heart Association walk-a-thons.
Ruth Balestra received her Bachelor of Fine and Performing Arts degree at Youngstown State University, and she studied dance at Kent State University. Ruth was the president of the YSU Modern Dance Ensemble and has performed in numerous productions including several pieces for the Dana School of Music Concert Series.
